ST. LOUIS — Does Lin-Manuel Miranda have a favorite show?
The famous songwriter and creator of the musical "Hamilton" was in the audience at the Muny Wednesday night to catch "Bring It On: The Musical," which he helped write music and lyrics for. He was there with other members of the creative team, Tom Kitt and Amanda Green.
Despite the Muny staging Miranda's "In the Heights" last summer, this was Miranda's first visit to the outdoor theater in Forest Park.
After the curtain call, Miranda spoke to the audience.
"This is a hard show to do — people fly through the air during the show. I don't think we exhaled the entire six months this show was on Broadway, and it's such a thrill to see it reborn in this incredible space. We made a lot of calls to make the rain go away, just so we could see it tonight. ... We love it so much and hope you did, too," he said, according to a statement.

Green and Miranda worked on lyrics to the show, while Kitt worked with Miranda on the music. The book is by Jeff Whitty. Muny artistic director and executive producer Mike Isaacson, with Kristin Caskey, executive produced the musical on Broadway.
"Bring It On" will be at the Muny through Sunday and starts nightly at 8:15 p.m. Tickets start at $21 with free seats available.
