Regarding the letter to the editor "Liberal media bias is helping to enable liberal violence in LA" (June 12): The writer claims that the immigrants being confined in Los Angeles as a result of the ongoing ICE raids are “criminals,†but it should be noted that being an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal offense — it is a civil violation.
And as for the writer's claim that the events of Jan. 6, 2021 constituted a “peaceful protest†where only “a few got out of hand,†the reality is that approximately 2,000 rioters broke into the Capitol, leaving 140 police officers injured and ultimately caused or contributed to five deaths. Then our current “law-and-order†president granted clemency to more than 1,500 of those criminals, including convicted insurrectionists and those who assaulted police officers.

Furthermore, none of the “left-wing†media outlets that the writer derides decided to settle a defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million, as Fox ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ did.
Finally, the notion that “only the liberal left can break the law and get by with it†ignores the fact that this president attempted to oust his lawfully elected successor and “got by with it.â€Â
